Freedom

What is it anyway? Everybody yells about it, but lately if someone has a different opinion than us... boycott them! Sure we have the freedom to support our military and their actions, and the veterans, but in the same ideology don't we have the freedom to not support the military or their actions or the veterans?

What about the rights we are supposed to have, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness? What happens when our opinions differ from the masses? Boycott? Just because we disagree?

Why is it that since G.W.Bush took over the white house we have leaned towards a mob rule mentality? The government has taken away more freedoms and civil liberties in the past four years that in the past forty! For some reason we seem to be on the bandwagon. How much further will it go? We already have military security at civilian airports. You can't even go to the bank and open a savings account without having the bank collect information from you for Uncle Sam.

Thanks to the "Patriot Act" that G.W.B. signed into law now you can no longer be assured of the constitutional protections that we used to hold so dear. Unreasonable search and seisure used to be one of the big reasons a case could get thrown out of court. Not anymore. All that there has to be is, no, not reasonable doubt even, all that there has to be is the suspicion that what you seem to be associated with MAY be linked to terrorism, and the new definition for terrorism is SO broad that you or I could be arrested right now, held without an attorney for an indefinite period of time. Do you think I'm wrong? Ask Sherman. Research it for yourself.

It's funny... Paladin Press, a publisher of anarchy books can print their information and offer it for sale and nothing happens. If the feds seem to think you are reading such material you WILL go to jail. They will find a way thanks to the Patriot Act, to link your actions to terrorism.

Perhaps you are merely interested in the dissemination of information such as I am. You could be charged with something linked to terrorism if the FBI thinks you are distributing the wrong information, or if they think they can get a conviction. You have NO defense. You have NO privacy.

We need to rid ourselves as a populace of the idea that the government is doing these things for our own good and realize that they are doing it for their own good. The government is afraid of it's citizens more than they are of terrorists. Just ask the women and children of Waco Tx... Oh that's right, you can't, the FBI, and BATF killed them all. Ask the kids that went to Kent State in Ohio in the sixty's, some of them lived through it.

Do some research and you'll see that YOUR government really does NEED change. It won't be easy with the federalists in charge though. WAKE UP AMERICA! We need to go back to a tolerant attitude with each other, and join together to take back our rights and freedoms.

Those are OUR civil liberties being violated every time someone goes to prison without a trial, or has their home searched without a warrant. It could be you next... Just remember, with the Patriot Act the government doesn't need a real reason anymore.

Fortunately for many, the courts are starting to rule parts of the patriot act unconstitutional. We already knew that though, but I'm glad the legal system is finally catching up. I don't always agree with how they rule on these issues, but I'm with them on this one. Read the news story.
